How do I change or cancel a reservation?
Before you change or cancel a reservation, be sure to check the
hotel's policies for any restrictions (see your reservation confirmation).
To change, cancel, or verify an existing reservation:
- On the left side of the home page under "who we are," click
Change/Cancel Reservations. Or, go to my planet and
click my reservations.
- Select "room-only" reservation if you've booked a room or
"package reservation" if you've booked a package. (Note that
you cannot change a package reservation-you must cancel and
then rebuild the package.)
- Enter your e-mail address and reservation confirmation number
(see the e-mail confirmation sent to you when you made the reservation).
- Click Get My Reservation.
- Select a reservation by clicking the button next to the confirmation
number.
- Click Cancel Reservation, Change Dates, or Change Credit Card.
Please note! Clicking the Cancel Reservation button does not cancel
your reservation. For instructions on how to cancel, change dates,
or change credit card information and special requests, please see
the following help for each:

a reservation
- Follow steps 1 through 6 in How
do I change or cancel a reservation?.
When you click Cancel Reservation, you'll see your itinerary
and the hotel's Deposit and Cancellation policies. Please review
the policies carefully! Some places will not allow online cancellations
within a specific time prior to check-in. In this case, please
call the hotel directly to cancel your reservation and to avoid
a possible cancellation or "no-show" fee. Refer to your e-mail
confirmation for their contact information.
- Scroll down to see the details of your
reservation.
- At the bottom of the page, click Cancel
Reservation Now. You must click this button to cancel your
reservation.
If there are no cancellation restrictions (refer to the hotel's
policy), your reservation will be cancelled successfully and
you will receive an e-mail confirmation. There is no need to
contact Customer Service about a cancellation—a copy of your
confirmation will be sent to the hotel.
Changing
dates
- Follow steps 1 through 6 in How
do I change or cancel a reservation?.
When you click Change Dates, you'll see your itinerary and the
property's Deposit and Cancellation policies. Please review
the policies carefully for any restrictions, fees, or penalties
for changing dates.
- At the bottom of the page, enter a new
check-in date. If desired, change the number of nights you want
to stay.
- Click Check Availability.
If those dates are available, you will see a page titled "Change
Dates - Available." If the dates are not available, you will
be prompted to change your selections.
- Verify the new reservation information.
If there is an error, click your Back button and re-enter the
information.
- If desired, you can change your credit
card information and/or any special requests for the property.
- Click Submit Changes at the bottom of
the page.
The next page will show "Change Dates - Successful." Please
verify the new reservation information (your confirmation number
stays the same).
You and the property will instantly receive a Reservation Modification
confirmation by e-mail.
Note: Currently, you cannot change room types or the number
of rooms listed on the original confirmation. Please call the
hotel directly to make this type of adjustment. We appreciate
your patience while we continue to enhance the site.
Changing
credit card Information and requests
Use this feature if you want to change the credit card you used
to secure the reservation and/or if you wish to send the property
a special request. You can send requests without changing credit
card information.
- Follow steps 1 through 6 in How
do I change or cancel a reservation?.
- When you click Change Credit Card you
will see the details of your reservation.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and
enter new credit card information and any special requests.
- Click Submit Changes.
On the "Change Credit Card & Comments
- Successful" page, please verify the new reservation information
(your confirmation number stays the same). If there is an error,
click your Back button and re-enter the information.
You and the hotel will instantly receive a Reservation Modification
confirmation by e-mail.

How do I check availability?
Checking availability while searching for a place to stay narrows
your search, saving you time and effort. Simply enter your check-in
date and the number of nights you'll be staying, then click Find
It! to see a list of hotels that are available during your travel
dates. You can check availability for multiple hotels at one time
or for a single hotel only.
Checking availability for multiple hotels
You can check availability for all of our hotels in a city or region
from the "Search Results" page or from Quick Search. When you click
Find It! we'll show you a list of hotels that have rooms available
during your travel dates.
All places with rooms available will appear at the top of the list
in alphabetical order. We also show non-available properties so
you can see a complete list of our properties in that area. Look
in the "Availability" column to see which places have rooms available
during your travel dates. When you find a place you like, click
"Book it!" to make your reservation or click the property name to
see more information. If a hotel has nothing available, click "Check
other dates" to see available dates, rates, and restrictions on
the Availability Calendar.
Note: You can sort a list of properties by availability, property
name, rate, property type, and packages (where available) by clicking
the column heading. Click the arrow to change the order (ascending
or descending).
Checking availability for one hotel
To check availability for a single hotel, click Check Availability
on a hotel's main page. (A hotel's main page appears when you click
its name on the "Search Results" page.) This displays the Availability
Calendar, which can help you find available dates, rates, and restrictions.
Using the Availability Calendar
When you click Check Availability, Check Alternate Dates, or Book
it! on a hotel's main page, or when you click "Check other dates"
on the "Search Results" page, you'll see a date selection area and
the Availability Calendar. Refer to the calendar to see:
- Available and non-available dates
- Price ranges for each available day
- Requirements and restrictions
When you find the dates you want to book, simply click your check-in
date on the calendar to automatically enter day, month, and year
in the boxes at the top of the page. You can check availability
up to one year in advance.
Note: The Availability calendar may not reflect exact rates and
availability. For accurate, up-to-the-minute information, please
check availability for your specific travel dates.

How do I find room rates?
To see a hotel's room rates, look in the "Rates" column in a list
of properties.
Below are some general facts about rates for our hotels. For specific
rate information, please note the hotel's rate and tax policies
during the booking process. Also note information about
the Euro below.
- Prices shown on a search results page represent a sample range
for each hotel and can vary depending on travel dates, number
of guests, and the type of room you want to reserve.
- Weekend rates are sometimes higher than weekday rates. Rates
may also be higher during peak seasons.
- When you begin to book a room, rates you see are based on
single or double occupancy, depending on the type of property.
You'll see actual rates after you enter the number of guests.
- Children's rates vary depending on the hotel's policy. The
age at which children are charged the adult rate also varies.
Children's rates are not listed separately—they are included
in the total room charge.
- Tax may be included in the rate. If it is not included, tax
will be determined by the hotel and added to your total cost.
Each hotel's tax information is displayed when you select a
room and when your reservation is confirmed.
- Rates may not include service charges, fees, or other incidentals.
About the Euro
During a transitional period in preparation for the introduction
of the Euro in January 2002, it is the responsibility of businesses
to respect regulations and fixed conversion rates set by the European
Union. When you make a reservation at a Euro-zone hotel in 2001:
- Your reservation will be confirmed in Euros (see your e-mail
confirmation). Until January 2002 the hotel will bill you for
payment in the local currency for the exact amount quoted in
Euros in your reservation.
- The official fixed currency rates will be used to calculate
the amount in local currency. For example, a reservation with
a confirmed rate per night of € 200,00 in France would be the
equivalent in local currency to € 200,00 x 6,55957 or FRF 1'311,91.

I can't find a place to stay. How can I improve my search?
When you check availability, we look at each of your selections
to find hotels, inns, bed & breakfasts, and resorts that match all
of your search criteria. However, if your search does not return
results, please consider the following:
- Minimum stays: Many hotels, inns,
B&Bs, and resorts require a two-night minimum stay on weekends
and holidays. Please see Using
the Availability Calendar
to learn how to find requirements and restrictions.
- Widen your search: If you are searching
by personal preferences and can't find a match, try broadening
your search by selecting "All" property types and price ranges.
- Act fast!: Many places fill their
rooms quickly, so make your reservations early!
Still no results?
If you still find nothing available, this unfortunately means we
do not have rooms for the date(s) you requested. Please try another
hotel or nearby destination if possible.

I want to call a hotel. Where is their phone number?
As an online hotel reservation service, we encourage you to book
online to avoid the time, effort, and expense required to reserve
accommodations by telephone. At PlanetRooms.com, we strive to provide
as much information as possible about our properties so you shouldn't
need to call. However, if you wish to contact a hotel, simply refer
to the contact information on your e-mail reservation confirmation
(sent to you when you make a reservation).

If you are a member of PlanetRooms.com and have forgotten your user
name and/or password, please contact Customer Service by e-mail
or telephone:
Please provide your full name or the
name under which the reservation was made, address, e-mail address,
and a reservation confirmation number if available. We will locate
your user name and password and e-mail the information to you as
soon as possible.
Remember your user name and password! We strongly recommend that
you record them for future use. Your user name and password are
required to book online with PlanetRooms.com.

Is my credit card number secure on this Web site?

About our technology
